Wrangell Mountains Hike and Packraft
June 1st-5th, 2018
We start and end each day with a wilderness yoga & meditation practice- imagine being on your mat surrounded by massive glaciers, rivers and mountains.
Then we adventure in Alaska's largest National Park.
This multi-sport base camp adventure combines all of the best ways to experience Alaska: by bush plane, by boat and by foot!
Base Camp Adventure
From historic McCarthy, Alaska we fly into remote glacial Nizina Lake, here the options are endless. With the ability to packraft around the lake and hike with light packs, we can fully explore the area. The shores offer ample space for practicing yoga and lakeside meditations. We begin each day with hot drinks, a morning yoga practice and a delicious breakfast before our adventure begins. Each evening we'll learn about Ayurveda and how to incorporate it into our daily lives. Before bed, we'll have a restorative yoga or meditation practice to send us off to sleep.
Pack raft Nizina Lake
Packrafts are small one person boats that are easy to paddle. Nizina lake is at the terminus of the mighty Nizina glacier- it's filled with icebergs and caves that are fun and safe to explore.
Hiking in the Wrangell Mountains
Few trails in the backcountry of Wrangell St. Elias National Park. We can explore glacial moraine, hike near surrounding peaks, or just meander around the lakeshore. Utilizing the pack rafts allows us to access even more hiking terrain.
